Statement of Purpose
I am glad to introduce
myself as XXXXX. I am a Nepali Citizen (Passport No: XXXXX) from XXXXX. I am
interested to upgrade my existing qualification into an undergraduate degree
and through this Statement of Purpose, I express a strong desire to study
Bachelor of Business major in Accounting (CRICOS Course Code 0101271) and also
have tried to point out other basic reasons for choosing Canterbury Institute
of Management, Mclaren Street, North Sydney NSW 2060; including course details
and career scope.
I have completed my SEE
from XXXXXl as well as Intermediate Level from same School. I
undertook Management Stream in my high school. I joined Foundation of XXXXX to
study Accounting Package from 2021 Dec 5 to 2022 Mar 11. After that, I studied
IELTS for a couple of months and I appeared the IELTS examination on 9th
April, 2022 in which I scored 6 overall. (L: 7.0, R: 5.5, W: 5.5, S: 6.0).
The
undergraduate educational system in Nepal has been normalized under four
different fields i.e., Science, Management, Humanities and Hospitality
management. The heart of the country, Kathmandu enlists a range of institutions
providing the education in the Accounting and Business field. I found
comparatively larger number of institutions providing me the undergraduate
course like: Kathford International College, Kathmandu Model College, DAV
College, Everest College, etc. Despite of the fact that the availability in the
course is frequenting in Nepal, our educational system, in my opinion is yet to
match the global standards. The main reason why I confidently point the fact is
because of the traditional approaches the teachers and institutes use till
date. Accounting generally takes four years in Nepal whereas it takes 3 years
for completion overseas, which saves a year from my learning period that I can
invest in my professional career. There will be no assignments, no debates, no
training, no group discussion, no field visit, and no internship and job
placements. The learning is more theoretical rather than enlightening the
practical aspect.
Therefore, considering my
future that’s in line, I concluded to travel overseas to be titled with the
best educational degree fully laden with professional working experience.
Choosing to study overseas was one part of the decision but the problem that
came along was to decide where to study as a lot of destinations welcomes
international students as of now. For non- native English-speaking countries
like Germany, France and Japan, we are required to surpass the language
requirement such that we need to first study the language from basic level.
Here UK and USA require high maintenance for living as well as for tuition
fees. The undergraduate course in Business is offered by both the study
destination through the universities such as University of East London provides
BSc (Hons) Business Management, Coventry University provides the International
Business Management BA (Hons), University of Findlay, Carroll University,
University of Redlands, Campbellsville University provides the course of BS in
General Business, etc all of these courses has the eligibility requirements of
IELTS overall band 6.0 with the annual tuition fees of 13,740$ to 15,100$ which
is equivalent to AUD 23,993.13 to AUD 26,368.
The fact that I will have to
expense the amount just for the tuition fees excluding the living costs is
disappointing. On the other hand, the same amount if invested in Australia can
cover the tuition fees as well as the living costs for a whole year. Other than
this, I managed to choose my study destination being based upon the factors like
safety, affordability, future prospects, lifestyle and exposure, weather,
language accessibility, practicality and modern technologies.
On the other hand, as both a
country and a continent, I would personally commend Australia on its every
decision. Australia’s decisions from giving a safe and secure environment for
incoming international students to scholarship schemes and introducing ESOS
acts and TPS in consideration for the international students . Also, the
decision to close the border and ensure the safety of its resident’s and
student’s health was more than enough reason for me to entrust Australia with
my future. Education wise, Australian institutions offer a wide variety of
world-ranked and internationally recognized qualifications, a feat Australia
offers an educational experience that makes a real difference. I found
Australia a lively, vibrant country with energetic, friendly people.
Multicultural Australia is English-speaking and a safe and friendly society in
which students can learn and travel freely. It is a multi-cultural, friendly,
harmonious society which values the wealth of cultural diversity.

Accounting
is a key management tool for business planning, monitoring and control that can
create a range of career opportunities in government and in business,
management and finance across a multitude of industries. Through a combination
of required units and electives, I will gain requisite knowledge and skills in
many areas of accounting and related fields. The Bachelor of Accounting
course offered by Canterbury Institute of Management is designed in such a way
that it develops an understanding
of accounting principles and practices, and helps to explore the relationship
between accounting, finance and economics, the law, management and marketing.

This was a considerable
dilemma for me, as Australia is home to some of the best universities in the
world and I only have to choose one from the vast ocean. On comparison,
location wise, affordability wise, course structure wise and facilities wise, I
found that Canterbury Institute of Management is a perfect college for me. I
also extremely liked how informative the webpage was not letting me hindered in
any part of it. Student like me going abroad for the first time, we are really
in need for a proper student support which Canterbury Institute of Management
is committed about. The institute ensures that every student is supported with
their course and study experience.

career plans

Whether I will be bookkeeping for a small business, working for a large accounting firm, or developing a financial strategy for a major corporation, accounting programs can open the door to a huge variety of exciting career paths. With the completion of my bachelor’s degree, Australian government legally provide PSW (Post Study Work) visa which I will certainly utilize to sharpen my professional skills for finding good exposure in homeland. An Australian qualification is highly reputed in my country so after the successful completion of the intended course I will return back to my motherland and utilize the knowledge and skills to in the related field.
REASONS TO RETURN HOME
COUNTRY, NEPAL: -
Being
raised in the nuclear family lovingly by my elders, they have gone against the
stereotypical societal norms and have always encouraged me to go for what I
desire. I have seen my father dedicate his all life to his work and raising his
standard of living and he has instilled same quality of his into me. I,
eventually wish to provide any kind of aid to the general public of Nepal as
per my potential.
Through
my experience in Australia, I would be able to distinguish and pinpoint on what
methods were we going wrong on and what should be done to nurture the economy
and overall development of the country. In this respect, my sole reason of
travelling to Australia is gaining the best practical knowledge that can be
implemented toward the growth driver in Nepal.
In Nepalese society, there
are great cultural value and I have emotional attachment to my family. We have
strong family values and bonding which does not allow me to stay away from my
parents particularly when they are growing old. I have always been supported by
my parents financially and emotionally throughout the life. Therefore, I have a
good opportunity in my chosen career back in Nepal. My dream and career goals
will only be fulfilled after coming back to Nepal. The responsibilities and
bonding towards my family, relatives, friends and my country will compel me to
return back to Nepal.
Visa Conditions:-
I am
quite aware of the fact that being an International Student there are certain
obligations of higher education visa sub class 500 which I must compulsorily
abide by. Some of the obligations are as follows:
Ø I must
maintain at least 80% attendance in my class and during the course.
Ø I am
entitled to work maximum 40 hours per fortnight as an international student.
Ø I need
to timely inform the concerned authority in case of change in my address while
being in Australia.
Ø Overseas
Student health cover (OSHC) should be properly maintained.
Ø I need
to have sufficient funds to meet my living expenses and also cover the course
fee.
Ø I cannot
change my education provider before 6 months of my commencement of study.
