Introduction

My father is a Government Retired Principle and currently he is engaged in the business of a pharmaceutical business company which name is XXXXXXXX. Whereas my mother is a XXXXXXXX. I am the only one Son in my family, I have received all the positive support and love from my family members, which always inspired and encouraged me to apply for Master of Professional Accounting(MPA) with 12 subjects in XXXXXXXX , Melbourne, Australia with EAP (English for academic purpose) course for 10 Weeks.

Reasons for choosing English for Academic Purposes (EAP)

I gave English language test (IELTS) for three times and also had booked one PTE test for 14^th March 2018. As I didn’t meet direct entry to intended program, I have chosen to study English for Academic Purposes (EAP) for ten weeks, before I start my main course. As per my understanding and research I found that English courses in Australian Institutions are designed to help students like me to succeed in university studies by improving my English and academic study skills. Without any doubt, I am mentally prepared that I will be studying well in packaged English program so that my English language will be enhanced properly.

Outcomes of 10 weeks EAP

• Achieve university-level English
• Develop academic vocabulary and classroom presentations skills
• Improve note taking during lectures
• Write summaries, essays and reports
• Builds confidence level higher and so on.

Immigration History

I have never travelled to any other abroad destination till now and this is my first time that I am applying student visa to Australia.

Gap Clarification and Work History

I had completed my Bachelor Degree in Business Administration in 2015 and I got my transcript certificate in February, 2016. Soon after I finished my final examination of BBA, I started working as an Assistant Accountant in XXXXXXXX. since 25^th October 2015 to 10^th April 2017. I learned various accounting principle practically through my work place while working as an account assistant. My major job roles and responsibilities included, keeping records of financial transaction, maintaining petty cash fund keeping record of salary paid to the internal staff. Preparing journal entries, maintaining ledger account were also my key roles.

After gaining nearly 1.5 years of work experience in Account Assistant position in previous company, I applied for Accountant position in XXXXXXXX. and luckily, I got selected. So, I started working as an Accountant in this company since 15^th May 2017 to till now.

I believe I have learned various accounting task practically and I also believe that in near future while pursuing my MPA program in XXXXXX, I will be having an advantage in understanding accounting subjects practically. I am confident that my current work experience and MPA degree fromXXXXXX will make me a competent and confident candidate for finding better job opportunity back in my home country in expected areas.

At the meantime, during my leisure period of working time, I have been doing research on studies in international universities, especially universities in Australia. I frequently visited different consultancies education fairs conducted by education providers of UK, USA, Australia and India. I collected all the information about further processing and eligibility for abroad study. After brief analysis on factors like course structure, course duration, location, tuition fee, scholarship scheme, quality education, climatic condition and so on regarding various study destinations and programs, I proudly choose XXXXXX, Australia for my further studies. I did apply for offer letter in XXXXXX on 26^th October 2017 and received on same week. Then I kept myself busy in preparing for IELTS preparation, collecting and preparing financial documents as well. I applied GTE in XXXXXX on 8^th January 2018 and got approved on 26^th February 2018, after submitting additional IELTS examination score sheet. I paid 10 weeks EAP fees and one year’s tuition fee to XXXXXX and received eCOE on 7^th March 2018.

Reason for choosing Australia for my higher education

While doing research for my higher education opportunities in Accounting field, I did conduct my self-researchfor screening course structure, scope of the degree, tuition fees, health and safety, and so on in various study destinations through education seminars, websites, and meeting universities representatives of different study destinations such as USA, UK Australia and my home country.Among all I found Australia as the best education provider for my higher education. So, I choose Australia over all other study destinations including my home country.

 

Australia is a popular destination for international students as it is a home to some of world’s leading universities which provides a wide range of courses and career opportunities for graduates. Courses offers by institution in Australia are flexible and equipped with global prospective. Foremost reason to choose Australia for higher studies is of high quality education with reasonable fee structure along with scholarship program. Australian study exposed students to the real-world scenario through internship. Australia is also considered as safety study destination especially for international students as it has special policy known as ESOS (Educational service for overseas students). Australian educational system is also based on both theoretical and practical approach. There are many more factors that supported me to choose Australia. The fact like many universities of the top 100 universities in the world are in Australia and 2^nd largest number of international students in the world shows that it will prove to be a good place for education. I am very much excited to hold degree with world recognition which will help me to compete in this competitive world. Australia will provide me practical education that will provide me lot of benefit in future. It is regarded as one of the safe country for staying and best for my higher studies.

 

Moreover, Australia has been a potential destination for like of us student who wants to explore the inner talent through the support of the Australian Universities. Education acquired on Australia will soon or later help me to realize the implication of practical knowledge that I have gained there. I have done research about the accountancy implication on different companies and banks during my BBA, which additionally made me clear while working as an Accountant in Max MediTech System Nepal Pvt. Ltd. that managing accounts and maintaining it in systematic manner would really help organization to grow much bigger. So, with the aim of being professional or Senior Accountant back in my home country, I believe MPA degree from CSU Australia would really help me to move ahead in achieving career goals.

 Reason for not choosing my home country, USA, UK, for my higher education

I have researched master of professional accounting (MPA) course in few other study destinations such as my home country, UK, USA. But I did not choose these countries because of few reasons such as high tuition fees and cost of living in comparison to Australia. In Nepal, the course related to professional accounting is not available in Nepalese universities such as Tribhuvan university, Pokhara University and Purbanchal university. Also, what I realized till now is that Nepalese education is totally based on theoretical system rather focusing on it practical implications. Studying in Australia would surely give me an opportunity to gain practical experiences in related and will also help me to gain international exposure. In Nepal although the education system on various faculties and streams are slowly transforming to research based study but it takes enough time for this type of transformation. At present, I don’t see any research based teaching methodology that help student like us to explore our inner depth potential and creativity in Nepalese university and colleges. Through Australian university degree I want to gain an internationally recognized degree which would make me possible to hold an international exposure and practical education. In compared to other country like USA, Australia has lower crime rate and also currency exchange rate. As per my understanding as per current currency exchange rate, I found that 1 US dollar is equal to NRs. 102.55, 1 UK Pound Sterling is equal to NRs. 137.91, 1 AUD is equal to NRs. 79.84. According to my findings, I am very much convinced that Australian education would be very affordable to me and I am happy for it. Also, for applying for higher education as USA has lengthy process which takes much time. Thus, I looked universities of Australia and I found Australia more desirable because of its reputation, fee structure, safety and many others. Australia has also established a good and strong reputation for excellence and quality services across its higher education and training program resulting in the ever-increasing number of international students.

Reason for choosing XXXXXX for my higher education

There are many universities in Australia among them I have selected XXXXXX, Australia which is the best destination for me to explore and continue my career and fulfill my underlying dream. The quality and more practical knowledge acquired there will be my best achievement in my life. Skills and knowledge gained from highly qualified teaching faculties at Charles Sturt University Would guide my career in this competitive global world. This university is one of the leading universities of Australia and it will be a golden opportunity for me to sharpen my potential in a unique learning environment. I found all the essential qualities in this university that every student needs for overall development to achieve their predetermined goals in life. I am so much confident that this university will be my final destination in Australia to pursue my MPA, As I am now totally attached with the each and every positivity of this university, who cares about the student.

 XXXXXX, located in the CBD on Lonsdale Street. I am extremely satisfied with its course structure as it is of 2 years, 12 subjects MPA course which is of 96 credit points in an affordable tuition fee (A$21,480 per year). I am impressed with its facilities including small class size, face-to-face student and staff consultation, highly qualified staffs. Furthermore, there are facilities such as orientation, coaching, career advisory and internships which every student needs for a raising their potential level. It provides an innovative teaching style that encourages student to be creative.

Beside this, comparing XXXXXX with other universities in Australia and I got to know through my research that Latrobe University does provide few of the programs related Accounting like Master of Professional Accounting, Master of Financial Analysis, and Master of Accounting and Financial Management. I did further more research to these programs through brochures, websites and also got a chance to meet representative of this Latrobe University in one of the education seminar in my home country. I found that most of all programs covers 16 subjects(XXXXXX has 12 subjects in MPA) and course structure is not similar as I found in XXXXXX, which I want to pursue. Annual tuition fee for each of these programs in Latrobe University is above AUD 30,000 per year. Most importantly, citing my IELTS score, Latrobe University would not offer 10 weeks EAP program like XXXXXX has offered me and I found it as the best part to improve my English with the help of XXXXXX as well. Similarly, Swinburne University of Technology offer various business and accounting related programs like Master of Finance and banking Global Leadership program, which is not focusing solely in accounting areas like MPA program of XXXXXX. Also, Swinburne University of Technology has annual tuition fee of above AUD 30, 000 which is higher than that of XXXXXX. Continuing my research for Accounting program in Melbourne, Australia, I got to know that Deakin University does offer Master of International Accounting, which comprises a total of 16 credit points comprising 12 credit points of core units and 4 credit points of elective units. As course structure is slightly different than MPA program of CSU and has annual tuition fee above AUD 34,000, which is higher than that of CSU. Deakin University also offers MPA program which is pretty similar to that of CSU but tuition fee is higher and I did not get EAP option as XXXXXX had offered me. As XXXXXX has MPA program with 16 subjects and also offer EAP program, citing course structure and tuition fee which is AUD 27,000 per annum, I also did not choose XXXXXX for my higher education.

Besides, other major reasons to choose XXXXXX are listed below in brief as per my best knowledge of understanding:

• CSU’s degree is designed in collaboration with academic and industry professionals to ensure student get high quality and up to date course curriculum.
• The teaching methodology followed by XXXXXX is simply unique and practical as we will go through only one subject in a day. Both lecture and tutorial are held in a same day which means it will be easy for us students to understand the topics and make queries to professors.
• Smallest class sizes so that we can receive individual attention from the professors on any academic problems.
• Master of Professional Accounting degree in XXXXXX is accredited by CPA, IPA and CANZ Australia, which is also an advantageous value to my resume later, while competing for the professional accountant positions in reputed business organizations back in my home country.
• Internship opportunity up to 12 weeks before or after graduation, working in one of the companies in Australia will give student real time working experience which will play vital role while applying for job back her in Nepal.
• XXXXXX has excellent Academic success records like: 259 Academic Achievement Award and 85 Executive Dean’s Awards for outstanding results that were presented in 2014 and recently certified as Carbon Neutral by the Australian Government’s Carbon Neutral Program and so on.

In summary, without any doubt, I have made the best decision ever by choosing XXXXXX among all for my higher education and I am confident enough that XXXXXX will help me for shaping my academic career higher than before.

Living Arrangement in Melbourne, Australia

For initial period, I will be accommodating around Hawthorne, Melbourne Australia with my one of the friend whom I studied together in grade 11, as he had promised to help me for it, then I will find my own accommodation nearby XXXXXX study center.

Reason for choosing Master of Professional Accounting(MPA)

I specialized in finance and management during my BBA program and currently working as an Accountant so, I choose master of professional accounting course as I want to have accounting and financial oriented career and I want to begin my professional career as professional accountant in reputed business organizations back in my home country. This course will help to expand my professional skills in different areas especially in accounting. This course will enrich my professional and judgmental skills. I will undertake advanced learning in both theory and professional practice and learn to solve business problems in innovative ways.

The Master of Professional Accounting (MPA) with 12 subjects is of 2 years duration with 96 credit points. During the course period, I will be studying: Accounting System and Process, Auditing, Economics for Business, Financial Accounting, Business and Corporate Law, Decision Support Tools, Taxation, Management Accounting for Cost and Control, Financial Accounting 2, Accounting and Finance, Accounting Thought and Accounting Information System.

 

My future plan after completion of intended course

As per my preliminary research in Nepalese business market, at the present time, there is high demand of accounting experts. After the completion of master’s program, I intend to return to my home country and pursue a career as a professional accountant and be a good professional example of XXXXXX graduates. I will get huge opportunities to work in Nepalese business market as well as in global market.

Currently, I am working as an Accountant in one of the reputed business company in my home country after gaining an international degree, international exposure and internship benefits from XXXXXX, Australia, I will be able to compete for the desired professional post in reputed business organizations of my home country. There are different sources which I can follow immediately after returning home country for job apply. For Instance, I can apply job through daily news paper vacancy advertisement, job portals like jobsnepal.com, rollingjob.com, merojob.com, kumarijob.com and so on.

No doubt, I will be able to pursue my career as a Professional Accountant or Financial Analyst/ Advisor in a national or multinational business companies such as Chaudhary Group, Surya NepalGlocha Organization, Unilever Company, Nepal Telecom, N Cell, Samsung Electronics and so on.

Not only in business organizations but also can focus in professional banking career as a Loan and Credit Officer or Financial Advisor in various banks such as Nepal Investment Bank, Nabil Bank, Lumbini Bank, Himalayan Bank, Nepal SBI Bank and as a Senior Accountant in NGOs and INGOs like Maiti Nepal, UNDP, UNICEF and Help Age International.

As per my research in such reputed business organizations, I can expect salary of NRs 60,000 to NRs 80,000 and also will be offered various facilities as per the terms of business organization that I will join in near future back in my home country.

Incentive to return on my home country

Beside my professional career goals back in my home country after finishing MPA from XXXXXX, I also have responsibility towards my parents to look after them in their old age. As I am the only Son of my family andI will also have to look after our family assets worth NRs. 1,98,97,000.00approximately,after this course of study will be finished, I will come back to my country, start my professional career and support my family as well and make sure my parents have a comfortable life in their old age. To make them proud of me and to take good care of them is first goal of my life.

I am mentally prepared to obey all the visa conditions under visa sub class 500 which I have highlighted below in brief:

• I need to maintain 80% attendance.
• I am allowed to work 40 hours per fortnight on part time basis.
• I need to clear 50% of subject in each term.
• I cannot change the university for 6 months upon enrolment.
• I need to maintain health insurance until I remain in Australia.
• I must notify to universities/DIBP within 7 days if I change the address or contact details and so on.

Finally, considering myself a sincere academically with genuine intention of studying MPA with financial and moral support of my family, I assure you that I will act in accordance with all the student visa obligations under visa sub class 500 during my stay and pass with proper grades in proper intended time to make my family, university and myself proud.
