Bachelor in Networking SOP

Statement of Purpose

I feel very glad to have been granted this opportunity to script down a brief Statement of Purpose. To begin with my introduction, I am XXXXXX, a permanent resident of Lalitpur XXXXXX, a competent student seeking for pursuing further studies in Bachelor of Networking in Melbourne Institute of Technology, Sydney, Australia. I live in a nuclear family with my parents. My father's name is XXXXXX and my mother's name is XXXXXX.

My father XXXXXX and my mother XXXXXX is the sponsor for my further studies in XXXXXX. My father and mother run a business named XXXXXX in XXXXXX which is sole source of income of my family. I will be getting full financial support during my stay in Australia including my tuition fees and living expenses. I will not be facing any financial difficulties as my family has a strong source of income for supporting me throughout my study period.

Regarding my immigration history, this is my first time that I am applying my student visa to Australia, and I have never applied any type of visa to any other countries in the past.

While I had been waiting for my result grade 12 and IELTS, I was also involved in doing research about the study destinations including Australia, USA, Canada and UK and the universities as well as for the desired course. I visited some educational fairs and surfed the internet too. I compared the Australian Universities with Nepali Universities and those of other study destinations like The United Kingdom and USA. My findings through independent research, led me to believe that Australia would be the best destination to pursue my further studies. After looking onto the several education providers in Australia, I selected Melbourne Institute of Technology, Sydney, Australia and am applying for Bachelor of Networking

At present, Australia is the leading Global Education Powerhouse with quality education, which is why it has become the third-most popular study destination for international students among several other countries. Australian Education System has a strong international reputation for providing local and international students a wide range of study options. The education system is carefully regulated by the Australian Government in order to maintain the high standards of education associated with the country. 8 out of 100 top universities in the world are located in Australia. The global acceptance of Australian Education along with the quality of scientific research, various specialist institutions, innovative and practical teaching styles draw me towards studying in Australia. Additionally, the affordability of tuition fees and living expenses are one of the best features of Australia.

Besides, Australia is very diverse country, rich in culture which makes it easier for the students to adapt to the environment. It is one of the most livable countries in the world. The quality of life and employer activity with their laid-back nature help students feel like at home. Students are offered the flexibility to work part time up to 40 hours per fortnight. Similarly, it is among the safest countries as the crime rate is very minimal. In addition, the student rights are protected by law under the Education Services for Overseas Students (ESOS) act 2000. The well-being of all international students, the quality of students' education experience and the provision of up-to date and accurate information are those rights.

According to my research for higher education option, I did not get convinced in studying further in my Home Country. The education system of my home country, Nepal focuses more on theoretical education without real-life situations and practical knowledge. Some good universities like Kathmandu University, Tribhuwan University and Purbanchal University along with private institutions offer Bachelor of Information Technology and Bachelor of Information Management but are not easily available because of the limited seats and high frequency of students applying for them and also require high marks for enrollment. Though I could find BIT program offered by The Bristish College and London Metropolitan University (Islington College) in my home country, which offers foreign degree through local education provider, after doing research upon course structure, I came to know they do not offer Bachelor of Networking program with intended majors subject like I have selected in Melbourne Institute of Technology, Australia. Moreover, the resources are limited and Nepali degree is not as recognized as Australian degree. In addition, achieving an International degree would definitely help me become competent and work back in my home country.

Furthermore, I did not choose UK, USA and European Countries to pursue my further studies because of the following reasons:

·        I needed to undertake additional test preparation exam like SAT to enroll in American Universities which would consume more time and a lot of money

·        The duration for Undergraduate Program is 4 years unlike that of Australia which

completes in 3 years. This helps me save my 1 whole year.

·        The currency exchange rate of UK and USA in conversion to Nepalese Rupees is more than Australian currency, which shows that Australian education seems affordable to me.

It seems to me that Australia consists of many cities and Sydney rated top 5 livable city of the world. Sydney is the largest city of Australia and also most populous city of Australia. Sydney is center of high class university. It is naturally beautiful harbor bridge and opera house. 1.5 million Overseas students live there. I also wish to live in. It is oldest city of Australia which is well known for its music, festival, excellent shopping, performing art, quality education and beautiful parks. And the climate of Sydney is moderate.

After doing my independent research on several universities and institute in Australia like Southern Cross University (SCU), Charles Drawin University (CDU), Charles Start University (CSU), Australian Catholic University (ACU), Melbourne institute of technology (MIT) and so on. I conclude myself (MIT) to be suitable and affordable. There are a lot of university charges approximately AUD $ 66,000 to AUD $ 75,000 of the whole 3-year course but MIT charges only about AUD $ 52,530 of same course with excellence. I did not wish to apply for Diploma level of studies leading to bachelor degree in Information and Technology inACU and UTS Insearch, as I am getting opportunity to begin my higher studies directly in to Bachelor degree level in MIT for intended program. I also did not choose CDU for BIT program, as it is located in Northern Territory, Darwin and I want to study in Sydney, Australia. Furthermore, I also did not choose few other education providers like SCU and Western Sydney University (WSU)for BIT program as I did not find intended major subject which I want to study, CYBER SECURITY and also tuition fee is higher than MIT in these education providers as well.

Melbourne Institute of Technology was established in mid-1990. Melbourne Institute of Technology is a Tertiary education institute in Australia with campuses in Melbourne & Sydney. The main motto of this institute is to give practical excellence to all students. It offers trimester system which allows me to complete 3 years course in 2 years. Also, it has more flexible commencement time having 3 intakes per years. MIT has smaller size classroom in comparison to other Universities and colleges. In other Universities 80-100 students are kept in a classroom but in MIT only 20-30 students are kept in a classroom which provides face to face interaction between tutor and student and the tutor will be able to find out the learning ability of individual student. MIT also assigns the mentors who are senior and to help junior for their academic difficulties and which is free of cost service. MIT is located at center of city which allows easy access to campus by public transport. Various programs offered by MIT provide analytical, strategic and leadership expertise needed in today’s competitive networking world which is accredited by the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA) and is accredited at the professional level by the Australian Computer Society (ACS). Upon successful completion of the course, graduates will be eligible for ACS membership.
