STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
INTRODUCTION AND FAMILY BACKGROUND
I am XXXXXXX ,permanent
resident of XXXXXXX, a Nepalese citizen holding a passport no. XXXXXXX. I was
born on XXXXXXX. I am persuadingMaster of Professional Accounting at Central
Queensland University (CQU), Sydney, Australia. I have good family ties, my
family comprises four members, including my father, XXXXXXX who is a Government
Teacher Named (XXXXXXX) located in XXXXXXX. My Mother XXXXXXX takes care of the
household things and helps us in everymoment. My Brother XXXXXXX is a civil
engineer currently working on (XXXXXXX). My family has raised me with good
moral and educational values.
I am married to XXXXXXX
during my 7th semester to my loved one on XXXXXXX following Nepali
culture and tradition in koteshwor, Kathmandu. I live with my in-law’s family.
My family-in-law consists of three members which include my father-in-law, XXXXXXX
(XXXXXXX), my mother-in-law, XXXXXXX.), and my husband XXXXXXX (Shareholder at XXXXXXX).
All our family members are engaged in economic activities and so I have been
privileged to get support from both of my families to pursue my desired study
in Australia. When I choose to study for Master of Professional Accounting in
Sydney, Australia. I have received full support and financial backing from both
families for covering my entire expenses of studying, living, and traveling in
Australia.
ACADEMICBACKGROUND
I have completed my
School Leaving Certificate (SLC) from XXXXXXX in June 2013 with 66.38%. I was
an excellent student when I was in school.Then, I completed my intermediate
level in Management faculty with a computer science major from XXXXXXX in 2015
with XXXXXXX After that, I Graduated from XXXXXXX affiliated with TribhuvanUniversity
(TU) in 2019 with a CGPA of 3.35. While at XXXXXXX I worked as an intern in XXXXXXX
for two months as per university requirements. My academic transcript was
issued in 2020. I passed the exams regularly and this extra time to get the result
and transcript is due to a delay in the XXXXXXX examination schedule.
FINANCIAL AND ECONOMIC CIRCUMSTANCES IN NEPAL
Briefly about my
family occupations, my father, XXXXXXX from which we have income from his
salary of XXXXXXX annually. Likewise, my brother, XXXXXXX is generating XXXXXXX
from his salary as a XXXXXXX in (XXXXXXX and we also have an income from house
rent and land lease (plot no. 377 and 401)
which is XXXXXXX and XXXXXXX respectively.
Likewise, my Father-in-Law XXXXXXX from (XXXXXXX) as a product manager has
income from a salary of NRs. 3, 60,000.00.And my mother-in-law also generates income
from(XXXXXXX) As a salary of XXXXXXX
likewise my husband also has a partnership business in a hotel named (XXXXXXX)
earns XXXXXXX annually.So,the total annual turnover from all such activities in
my family and family-in-law is XXXXXXX.Which makes for the smooth running of
family financial affairs and is also available for my further education in Sydney,
Australia. Additionally, my mother-in-law, XXXXXXX has savings of XXXXXXX in Everest
Bank Limited to cover my fees, living and traveling expenses in Sydney, Australia.
I have supplied all the financial documents as evidence of our financial
capacity.
Hence, I need further
education to get a promotion to the matron, head of bringing more value to my
career, and also earn better incentives for myself.
To, pursue higher education in a foreign country, skills in English are a must. So, I appeared in International English Language Testing System(IELTS) academic module held on 28th October 2020 and obtained an overall band of 6 with Listening (6.5), Reading (6), Writing (5.5), and Speaking (5.5).The score meets the English requirement to get direct enrollment and study Master of Professional Accounting (MPA) in central Queensland University (CQU). English was also the language of instruction during my schooling, intermediate level,and undergraduate studies.
The first reason for me to do a Master's degree course is to upgrade my qualification and earn a higher qualification which makes me eligible to work inAccounting Sector. There are relevant courses like Master of Business Studies, Master of Business Administration offered by Tribhuvan University, Kathmandu University, Purbanchal University, and their affiliated institutes. Both Master of Business Studies and Master of Business Administration isa wide program that helps the graduate to become a well-rounded business professional but Master of Professional Accounting is a concentrated program that specializes in Accounting knowledge.
Master of
Professional Accounting is not available as an exact program format in
institutions in Nepal. Master of Finance and Control is another program
available in Nepal which is closely related to accounting. The program is
offered by Tribhuvan University. The total enrollment quota at the Masters of
Finance and Control program of Tribhuvan University School of Management
(SOMTU) is thirty-five only due to which the competition for securing an
admission seat is very tough. Moreover, the accounting knowledge which I will
achieve studying MPA is far more diverse when compared to the Masters of
Finance and Control program of Tribhuvan University as the latter one also
focuses on areas like Cooperatives Management, Financial Services, and Wealth
Management, Micro Finance and Entrepreneurship, Managerial and Financial
Economics. Other courses such as Master of Business Studies and Master of
Business Administration are not my focus due to lack of professional accounting
specialization. So, studying in Nepal is not the better option for me due to
the unavailability of the exact course that I want to study.
WHY CENTRAL
QUEENSLAND UNIVERSITY (CQU)?
There are plenty of
reasons for selecting Central Queensland University as my education provider. It
started in 1967 based in Rockhampton North, Australia. It now has more than
30,000 students spread across 24 campuses. CQU is one of the most popular
universities among overseas students.CQU provides a variety of degrees at a
reasonable cost for overseas students with a very friendly environment. Central
Queensland University is a research-intensive university with an outstanding
reputation for its learning environments across a broad range of disciplines.
Central Queensland University is ranked top 2% University in the world with an enviable
record in teaching and research. Five star experienced guaranteed in
Employability, Facilities, Internationalism and Teaching According the QILT 83%
graduate get fulltime employment within the four month. CQU also maintain the
research output is very high. Student’s faculty ratio is 13 only. The aim of
Central Queensland University is very impressive in that focuses on
transforming people and the world, providing the student with the necessary
discipline, specific knowledge, and skills required to become competent in a
variety of settings to provide evidence-based, creative, sensitive, and
responsible for any job with whom they work. Central Queensland University
provides unlimited opportunities and potential which help an individual be
eligible enough to engage themselves to work in all parts of the world.
Additionally, Central Queensland University meets my requirement to getan education
in MPA.
REASON
FOR CHOOSING MASTER OF PROFESSIONAL ACCOUNTING
It has been almost 2
and more years since I started my professional career. Though I have got the
opportunity to know about the real-world working scenario, improve my
communication skills and groom myself professionally, I have now realized that,
the analytical and technical skills which I have gained during my undergraduate
skills in not enough for me to have a secured job position in this competitive
market. I am a business student and I want to secure a fixed and stable career
in the business field, for which I have to advance my understanding and knowledge.
So, I decided to continue my education.
For my further studies, I had options to study popular programs like Master of Business Studies, Master of Business Administration, but I found a bigger scope career in the accounting field career-wise. The reason for this is the nature of the job which is critical to any organization’s success. Accounting and finance in business is the backbone and how successful an organization becomes depends on professional accounting and financial practice. It is the professional accountant who records, analyzes, and plans the financial information of a business to help managers to make a decision and run it successfully in all sorts of business organizations, be it a small-scaled business industry or a multinational industry. Master of Professional Accounting will provide me required education and experience to join as skilled manpower in the Accounting sector.While searching for a master’s program that would enable me to excel in the field of accounting, I came across a Master of Professional Accounting (MPA). This course will provide students with knowledge that would result in them being technically and analytically skillful in order to deal with planning and decision-making issues in the field of accounting and finance.
KNOWLEDGE ABOUT THE COURSE
Master of Professional Accounting (MPA) is a full-time 2-year
course with a total of 16 subjects with 14 core subjects and 2 elective
subjects with 90 credit point. The curriculum
comprehends practical knowledge rather than theoretical knowledge and prepares
students for real-world problems. In the first year, I have to study. Economics
for Managers, Managerial Finance, Accounting in Australia, Foundations in
Accounting, Foundations of Management Accounting, Accounting System and Information
Assurance, Company Accounting, Contemporary Accounting Theory, Auditing and
Ethics, Ethics and Governance, Australian Commercial Law, Statistics for
Managerial Decision, Corporations and business Structures and Taxation law of
Australia.
The
course also consists of a capstone unit that helps in building professional
skills in business and account projects. When I learned in detail about the
subjects I find that the course provides not only accounting theory but there
are other concepts and subjects including in the elective units Forensic
Accounting, Financial Data Analytics, Business Internship and International
Financial Management. I will choose any of the two subjects.
REASONS
FOR CHOOSING AUSTRALIA
Australia
is considered to be far better and a safe, multicultural and heartily welcoming
nation for many international students. In addition, Australia has the closest
time zone to my home country and even the weather does not differ a lot. Thus,
it makes adapting to a new environment easier.
When I did not find my specialization course in Nepal and, I researched to study in foreign countries. I discovered that the education system in Australia and other countries prioritize skills rather than theory and qualifications are designed with a close connection to the industry. So, I was able to find courses like Master of Professional Accounting, Master of Accounting, and Master of Accounting and finance. Then I learned in detail about Australia. It is one of the most popular destinations nowadays for international students. The reason for this isthe presence of internationally ranked universities in Australia and the recognition of education gained in Australia. The country has pleasant weather which is not extreme and a large number of international students mean that I can be a global citizen with such knowledge and experience. Not only that, I found, the Australian government has implemented advanced education policies and regulations for international students, which regulated and protect students’ education experience in Australia. One most important rule I learned is, the Education Services for Overseas Students (ESOS) Act, which is the framework that protects the rights of international students studying in Australia. I also know that Tuition Protection Services (TPS) is a system for international students to get the protection of tuition fees paid to the education provider when they are unable to complete their studies in another course or with another education provider or receive their unspent fees . To manage and control the quality of education in universities, the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA) helps to the regulation of higher education using the standards-based quality framework for international students. All the courses in Australia for international students are listed under Commonwealth Registration of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS), with information onthe course of study to overseas students. For our safety in Australia, there is compulsory health insurance that we must-have for the whole duration ofthe study. So, there is no worry about medical issues in Australia. The value of education, quality outcome, and recognition of my education in Australia is very important for me to choose Australia to study further.
As per my research
for study in the USA, there are many universities. One such university is
Montana StateUniversity and Pittsburg State University which I researched
about. Montana State University’s Master of Professional Accountancy program
has a program duration of two years and the tuition fee is USD 16,198.00 per
year. The nearest enrolment intake is available for March 2022 At Pittsburgh State University,
the tuition fee for Master of Professional Accountancy course is USD 19,154 per
year. Like most American universities, both the universities require international
students to have to get GRE or GMAT scores which makes admission requirements
much more complex.
For study in the UK,
Heriot-Watt University provides MSc International Accounting and finance
program whose tuition fee is GBP 15,560 for a year Likewise, the University of Strathclyde has
MSc International Accounting and Finance program with GBP 24,300 tuition feehttps For Nepali students, a master’s
degree in the UK with only a one-year program duration is a matter of issue,
though we can complete it in a short time frame. It is because Masters’ courses
in Nepal have two years of duration.
Also, the living expense required for studying in the UK is
comparatively higher than USA, Canada, and Australia. According to my research
I have found few International students supports system as compare with
Australia.
Another English-speaking
country is Canada where many universities are present providing master courses
in Accounting. One popular university is the University of Toronto which is one
of the most reputed providers for the Master of Accounting and Finance program.
The program duration is 16 months and the available start date is in May 2022.
At the University of Saskatchewan, the master of professional accounting is 2
years program with CAD 23,700 tuition fee per year. Not only is another reason
for me not to choose Canadathe unpleasant weather which is not favorable for
me.
REASON
FOR NOT CHOOSING ANOTHER UNIVERSITY IN AUSTRALIA
There are also
universities like Charles Darwin University, Latrobe University, and Flinders
University which are popular for Master of Professional Accounting. Charles
Darwin University is located in Darwin Australia. The Master of Professional
Accounting (Professional Practice) degree of CDU has a tuition fee of AUD
31,200 per year. Other than tuition fees, the
class size in and practical components in Central Queensland University is
smaller and focused. When I have been gone through the La Trobe University
tuition fees is higher which is AUD 39,000 per year and finally and Master of
Accounting is available there in flinders university which is available at
37,500. I stacked with CQU because I have provided 25% scholarship which will
cost me exactly 12510 per semester and with the excellent teaching service.
ACCOMODATION
ARRANGEMENT
I am really familiar
with accommodation arrangement in Sydney Australia, CQU is located in 400 kent
street, Sydney NSW 2000. I have been gone through Flatmates , UniLodgers , furnished property and many more available there. My
families and in law both families are so concerned of our accommodation,
tuition fees and living cost of Australia, Where my Mother in law hold NPR
6,900,000.00 in Everest Bank Limited, Baneshwor Kathmandu, Nepal. There for we
will not face any financial problem there.
FUTURE
CAREER PLAN
I have a generous
plan to work in my own home country after completion of my Master of
Professional Accounting in Australia, I will return to NepalI always dreamt and
imagineddoing something here in Nepal. The field of professional accounting has
been ever in demand due to increased trade and the growth of the country’s
overall economy. Accounting and professional financial management is the
backbone of every business organization as well as the government. So, various
types of accountants are needed in every industry. The professional career
opportunities with international exposure and skills with knowledge in
taxation, corporate laws, business, and accounting management will give me
priority to be selected for jobs. There are lots of different career options
and paths in the professional accounting field like General Bookkeeping,
General Accountant, Internal auditor, taxation accountant, Financial Director,
Chief Accountant, etc. To secure such positions and professional designations,
need to have good accountancy skills and a recognized degree, and a lot of hard
work as I will have an Australian degree after completing my education in
Australia. During my research, there isa lot of national and international
companies, organization, and government Banks in Nepal, which offers different
job vacancy for Accounting, private companies. Since I have worked in
microfinance as well I did my internship in an institution where I want to work
in a financial institution. For this, I have followed the vacancy notice of
several banks including Century Bank, Everest Bank, NIC Asia Bank, sunrise bank
limited, Global IME Bank, etc. My expected starting salary is about NPR 60,000
in Nepal which is possible to analyze the current trend of jobs and the growth
of accounting professional demand in Nepal. There are different jobs portals
are available for finding a job in Nepal which will help to find a job easily,
like Merorojgari, JobsNepal,
KantipurJob,etc.
and we can also find job vacancies through newspapers and advertisements. With higher-level positions and more work
experience and positions goes higher salaries also increase the same way up to
NRs.70, 000-80,000 per month, this will be enough to fulfill the desire of my family
and live happily. After working in some organization for a
few years, I have planned to start my account and Audit Company In The Future
or any financial Institute.The organization will specialize in corporate
accounting and financial services which are of international standard.
Therefore my study in Australia with professional accounting will lead me to
get higher career success in Nepal and an Australian degree helps me to boost
my career better.
INCENTIVES
TO RETURN TO NEPAL
I will return to my country
after I complete my study in Australia. Since I want to make my career in Nepal
living within the comfort of my family, there is not any reason to stay in
Australia. My parents have done a lot to shape a bright future for me. I have
the moral responsibility to make them proud and happy. Being the youngest
child, I have the responsibility to take care of them; I want to be a reason for
their happiness and support always being by their side during their old age. My
family has a family property which worth is XXXXXXX in the present market, I will
also have the responsibility to look after the property in the future days.
Talking about career chances, I will have more career opportunities here in
Nepal and I won’t have to face tough competition in this competitive market to
hold a secure professional career in Nepal as there are fewer internationally
qualified graduates. After completing my
study in Master Professional Accounting in Australia, I will have a globally
recognized international degree and skills in professional accounting, which
will give me extra points to be successful in my career. This will help me to
get high position job a bit easier as well as there won't be any problem to
start my own business in the related field too. So, I will be back in my home
country to start my professional career.
